Design 101: Newsletters Planning - Step 4

Step 4 of 6:

Figure out when everything is due. This is a vital step. All newsletters have some kind of deadline, and you need to put this deadline up on the wall along with your mission statement. But before you do, make sure that the deadline you give others allows you enough time to edit, proofread, design, layout, output, print, and distribute the newsletter. It can be helpful to first figure out when your newsletter must reach your readers, then plan backward to set a printing date, then a date for final output, then a date for proofing, then production, then deadlines for anyone providing text or artwork.
